Over the years apprenticeships have been branded, poked, prodded, stereotyped and tossed to the side for various reasons. But what we all have to remember is that things change over time and the apprenticeship industry isn’t just changing but it’s evolving!

We thought we’d give some insight on some interesting facts and figures that are coming out of the woodwork. So did you know….

1 in 5 companies has a Board Member who used to be an Apprentice.



Females now take up 55% of Apprenticeships.




Higher apprenticeships are available in 40 subjects.





Almost 9 in 10 of employers that take on an Apprentice report benefits to their business.




70% of businesses said that Apprenticeships improved productivity or product/service quality.






Apprenticeships were estimated to contribute a total of £34 billion to the UK economy in 2014 to 2015.




96% of employers recommend employing an Apprentice.








In America, fewer than 5% of young people train as Apprentices.





In Germany, that figure is closer to 60%.
