Role Details


We are currently seeking an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, Apprentice Audio Visual installer to join our team to install AV equipment within public & commercial environments. The role will involve completing installations from end to end, on time and to a high standard. We work for heritage sites, retail & main contractors, no experience required as full training will be provided. An interest and desire to build a career within the AV industry is essential.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Installation & Termination of CAT5 / CAT6 cables
Installation & commissioning Screens, Projectors, Control Systems, Kiosks, Amplifiers, Matrixes and general AV systems
Working with large screen and other bracketry, unistrut and fixings
System programming
Fault Finding & resolution
Rack Building & dressing
Configuration & support of IP networks & systems
Experience in RS232 and IR control
Working at Heights
Things to take into consideration, this role is a physical role, you will be required to:
Routinely lifting of objects up to 40 pounds such as drills, AV equipment and other equipment related to the AV installation
Climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolds, and work at heights up to 5m.
Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
Work is routinely performed in both internal and external environments and with occasional exposure to inclement weather, and varying temperatures.

Qualification(s) Required :

You will need at least a C grade in both GCSE Maths & English, and in three or four other subjects at least.

Training Provided
This is an exciting 2-year apprenticeship, that teaches the very latest Microsoft and sector recognised certifications. It can combine both traditional Server and Network learning, with the very latest Cloud based certifications. These include Office 365 and Azure. This programme also includes Cisco based learning and certification, and a British Computer Society Project Management course. You can also gain the CompTIA Network+ and Security+ certifications.

This apprenticeship is delivered remotely via a virtual classroom using the very latest Microsoft technologies. You will also be supported by monthly one to one sessions with your assessor and have regular onsite visits.
