Business Support Apprentice

Role Details


• Answering phones, taking messages & dealing with queries • Making appointments & arranging meetings, including booking rooms & making refreshments • Preparing paperwork for panel meetings • Updating standard documents using MS Word, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Excel and PowerPoint • Using Google sheets to maintain computerized records & run reports, using PowerPoint for presentations • Learning to take minutes of meetings • Photocopying and scanning documents as required • Supporting with Freedom of Information and Subject Access Requests, including all scanning of documents

Possible progression onto an advanced or higher apprenticeship or employment

Skills Required :

1. Good working knowledge of office applications such as MS Word, Excel and Google docs & sheets
2. Good communication skills with clear spoken & written English
3. Able to work flexibly within a team, asking for & giving support as needed
4. Able to learn to use own initiative, to follow procedures & learn to work to deadlines
5. Able to understand & respect the importance of confidentiality, both within & outside the workplace
6. Aware of health & safety, equality & diversity in the workplace
7. Punctual, with an understanding of the impact absence has on the effectiveness of the team
