Can I apply now or do I wait until after I finish school/sixth form?

Here at AIM, we say it is never too early to apply. If you see a job you like and the end date finishes soon it doesn't necessarily mean the job will start on that date or in that month. The application process can be lengthy and you might have to take part in 2-4 interviews before you're offered the job, which could take a few months.

Also bare in mind that if the employer really likes you and you're suitable for the job they may postpone the start date. It is also good to get interview experience early on to give you a better chance of success during the application process, so it's good to apply sooner than later if you need some experience with interviews. Although, don't worry if you want to wait until after you finish, apprenticeships are available all year round.
